HOW IT WORKS

01. MOBILITY

Mobility helps people move more efficiently allowing for ease of movement through an active range of motion, increased performance and reduced injury risk.

 

It's the key to keep your muscles & bones strong, your joints working properly, your heart healthy, & your metabolism peaking at great levels. The more you move, the better your strength and balance will be, and the less likely you will be to fall or lose the ability to perform basic daily functions.

02. STABILITY

Stability training benefits your strength training by creating a solid foundation of underlying stabilising muscles that allow your body to accomodate larger, more powerful movements,

 

Stability skills are movements where the body remains in place but moves around its horizontal and vertical axis. For example: balancing, stretching, bending and twisting. These skills are needed in order to progress onto locomotor & manipulative skills. Balancing in particular is important.

03. POWER

Faced with a 4 lane intersection, you have enough strength to walk across the street. But it is the power, not just strength, that can get you across all 4 lanes of traffic before the light changes. Likewise, power can prevent falls by helping you react swiftly if you start to trip or lose balance

 

Having the speed (power) to move your joints into a position to recover a fall, and then the strength to decelerate and stop the fall will significantly reduce the likelihood of a fall and injury. You also get the added bonus of stronger/denser bones from strength training, so it's a win-win.

 

04. STRENGTH

Strength training may enhance your quality of life & improve your ability to do everyday activities. Strength training can also protect your joints from injury. Building muscle also can contribute to better balance and may reduce your risk of falls. This can help you maintain independence as you age.

 

Most of us know that strength training ( with free weights, fixed weights or resistance bands) can help & maintain muscle mass & strength. What many of us don't know is that strong muscles lead to strong bones. And strong bones can help minimise the risk of fracture due to osteoporosis.

 

05. FLEXIBILITY

Improve your performance in physical activities. Decrease your risk of injuries. Help your joints move through their full range of motion. Increase muscle blood flow

 

Activities that lengthen and stretch muscles can help you prevent injuries, back pain, and balance problems

 

Flexibility ensures that different parts of the body are working together for optimum performance. Good standards of flexibility should mean better lifts, and also make injuries less likely, with the body more able to cope with the stresses and strains of lifting/moving.
